Koi Fish Sculpture

This was my first attempt at sculpting in Super Sculpey. It's a wonderfully malleable material, and it retains a lot of detail even though it is so soft. I can see me using this material to create some of the fantasy figures I have in mind to go into my mixed media work, including my Pirate themed work...it's pretty exciting :)

Pirate Treasure Chest Experimental Work

Stone Finish Tester

It's been a busy few weeks for me. I have been working on finishes for my Pirate treasure chests and altered books, using a host of mixed media materials and acrylic paints. I've been trying to unify the heavily textured surfaces , and wanted to combine an opulent feel as well as an organic shipwrecked theme. There will be ornate focals sometimes with gemstones, and sometimes featuring sculpted piece, so the finishes had to be able to be pushed back into the background too...

I am happy with my finishes and tester samples so far, I still have a long way to go, but they are starting to form in my mind more clearly now :)

Whimsical Barnyard Art Journal Entry

It's a Monday and I was in desperate need of whimsy lol. This is an Art Journal entry of mine inspired by the animated movie Chicken Run, and it depicts a whimsical "Early Morning Barnyard Inspection" ....it's a fun and colourful start to the week
